Adeboye@76: RCCG youths to organise marathon praise

As part of the activities to mark the 76th birthday of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the youth wing of the church is set to hold its annual Marathon Messiah Praise concert tagged “The Great Redeemer”. The non-stop praise concert, which is the sixth edition in the series, is scheduled to commence on February 26 and ends March 1.

The sessions will take place simultaneously in 16 countries, including Nigeria for 76 hours. Addressing a press conference over the weekend, the Music Director, RCCG, Pastor Kunle Ajayi, said the Marathon Messiah’s Praise, which is the world’s longest annual non-stop gospel musical event is aimed at: “expressing our gratitude to God for His mercy upon the life of our father, Pastor E A Adeboye the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG); and creating a new pattern of Praise in this dispensation.” According to Ajayi, “As we are adding more countries this year, a new touch is accompanying our mode of operation.

To the glory of God, we will be having two separate stages this year: Nigeria and Diaspora. “The Nigeria stage will be at the Youth Centre, Redemption Camp, while the Diaspora will have 15 stages spread across the 15 participating countries outside Nigeria.” While stating that over 10 million viewers are expected to watch the musical event live on TV and social media channels, the music leader added that: “With the Holy Spirit as the anchor, over 150 worship leaders will be leading millions of worshippers across the globe through the 16 stages in the countries where the programme will be taking place.
