IT’S CHEERY! Kerry Washington speaks Igbo on friend’s birthday

Hollywood Kerry Marisa Washington (born January 31, 1977) is an American actress and producer. The actress took to social media to wish a friend a happy birthday, but after since she wrote the goodwill message in Igbo to wish Nigerian born American actress, Uzor Aduba, a happy birthday, the atmosphere around her has lightened up and everyone really impressed about her effort to cheer the celebrant on her day. She wrote; “@Uzoaduba, Ncheta Ubochi omumu gi. Ekele diri Chineke” translated to mean ‘Happy Birthday Glory be to God.’

She is married to a Nigerian Igbo Nigerian Professional Football League player, Nnamdi Asomugha, on June 24, 2013 and they have two children together. Since 2012, Washington has gained wide public recognition for starring in the ABC drama scandal, a Shonda Rhimes series in which she plays Olivia Pope, a crisis management expert to politicians and power brokers in Washington DC, and she’s also a producer.
